The loss of a passport

Female Patient being comforted by GP…and everything else!

It happened to a friend of mine… She is actually pretty street-wise most of the time. This time however, it seemed she was destined for a good size helping of bad luck. Her purse was snatched right out of her lap in broad daylight.

I tell everyone I can not to carry valuable documents such as passports, identification or credit cards all in one place. We even posted about where to carry your passport not too long ago.

The best thing to do is carry your passport in one place, preferably on your person and not in a bag, and then keep other identification in a separate bag or item of clothing, just in case. My friend had everything in her handbag. She lost her cash, credit cards, ID, cellphone … well everything.

She missed her flight, had no way of getting anywhere and was stranded in a foreign country. Now, weeks later, she still has issues with replacing everything.

Stay smart, and travel safe!
